The Missions Team of the Piedmont Okefenokee Baptist Association proposed the adoption of a mission’s partnership with the state of Oaxaca, Mexico to engage the unreached, unengaged people groups (UUPG’s) of that region.  The partnership was approved on October 23, 2014.

The vision team, in cooperation with IMB personnel, identified an area of the state of Oaxaca, Mexico with several different UUPG’s.  The UUPG’s are the Triqui, Mixteco, Tacuates, and Amuzco.

A national church planter missionary has just moved to southwestern Oaxaca, Mexico that would allow engagement of each of these UUPG’s from this base.

Working with IMB missionaries we will be able to coordinate the mission work in the area.

Engagement opportunities:  Evangelistic prayerwalking, pastor and leader training, evangelism, Bible storying, involvement in church planting, others.

Summer/semester missionaries: opportunities for college-age students to serve as summer and/or semester missionaries among these people groups and work with IMB missionaries in the region and Mexican nationals to engage these UUPG’s.

Plant autonomous, indigenous, reproducing, biblical churches among each of the UUPG’s represented in this area of the Mexican state of Oaxaca.

For each of the church plants to be led by a local pastor/leader.

For each of the church plants to reproduce leaders and plant churches in other/neighboring communities and UUPG’s.

Equip pastors/leaders to plant reproducing churches.

Send 1-3 teams annually from our association to engage UUPGs.

Incorporate youth through adults in cross cultural missions

For a church or group of churches to adopt one or more of the UUPG’s we are engaging
